About Raquel
Who is Raquel Vigueras? I am a 20 year old girl who has a passion for designing things. I am an amateur, self-taught graphic designer who started doing what I do at the ripe age of 11 years old. I am a Political Science major at the University of Saskatchewan, receiving minors in both French and Spanish. I sometimes ask myself why I am not taking graphic design? I was yearbook editor at my high school for two years, and realized that I should not make my passion my career, but instead keep it a hobby so I will always enjoy it. So that is what I will do!
My tools are Adobe Photoshop and the Olympus Evolt E-500 DSLR camera. Music is my inspiration. I would love nothing more than to design album artwork for musicians, or to become the art director of a small magazine.
This is me, Raquel Cotty Vigueras, freelance graphic designer.

I designed this poster for the Swift Current Lyric Theatre's 5 Most Fascinating People Showcase Night. I used the Microphone Man previously on another Showcase Event poster.
I made this logo for an audio equipment rental business in Swift Current. The idea behind it was to have audio wave" and then I adjusted the "dimensions" of it. I thought it was very fitting for the company name, Dimension Audio!
I designed this artwork for my Mom. It's called A Field Below, because that was the first song I heard after my grandpa passed away in 2007. Cheers to Regina Spektor for writing such a beautiful song! This was printed 24 x 36 inches.
I did this for my sister for Christmas. It's of our Abuelo. He passed away just one week before Christmas, and he was very dear to all of us. The beautiful words were written by my cousin, Alejandra. This was printed 24 x 36 inches.
I designed this Lennon/McCartney set for myself, as posters in my bedroom. The old radio used is one that we have at our family cabin. I love that radio! The Lennon poster was printed 24 x 36, the McCartney is a bit smaller.
I designed this poster for the Saskatchewan Ball Hockey League as there is an upcoming Canada-wide tournament in Penticton, BC. This poster will be posted all around the province, so I'm really proud to showcase this piece!
I do a lot of "pro bono" work for ChESS - the Chemical Engineering Student Society - at the University... Mostly for posters, but I did banquet tickets as well! It's been fun, as their events tend to be my favourites! Click to see some work!
